Award Rules of Entry

1. For your submission to be valid, your club must have been a financial member of Clubs Queensland since 1 January 2021 and be an incorporated association or a company limited by guarantee.

2. Your membership must be paid up to date at the time of submitting your nomination.

3. Submissions open 9am, Tuesday, 21 September 2021 and questionnaires will be available for download from the Clubs Queensland website:

4. All category submissions must be submitted no later than 5pm, Wednesday, 15 December 2021.

5. Clubs can enter any relevant categories and there is no cost to enter.

6. A club that governs only bowls, surf life saving or football as their core purpose sport cannot also enter Best Sports category. A club that governs only ONE sport other than bowls, surf life saving and football is free to enter the Best Sports Club Award examples, Yacht Club, Rifle Club, Hockey Club, Golf Club, Pony Club etc.

7. A club that governs several sports is free to enter Best Multi Sports Club as well as put forward one of their sports for an individual award if that sport has its own separate club house. If the individual sport is bowls, surf life saving or football they are free to enter these categories. If the sport is something else such as boating, hockey, golf etc they are free to enter the Sports Award but must nominate which sport they are entering.

8. A submission in the Community Award categories must be for a current or ongoing project where the benefit has been delivered to the community since 1 January 2021.

9. Should an entrant choose to submit an entry in any of the Community Award categories that was entered in a previous year, the submission must be significantly different.

10. By submitting an entry, the entrant indemnifies Clubs Queensland against all claims, losses, suits and demands made against or suffered by the club, due to any negligent act or omission on the part of the entrant - this includes unauthorised or uncredited use of images, videos or materials supporting an entry.

11. Clubs Queensland may use any stories, information, photographs or video footage submitted by entrants to promote the Awards for Excellence, other community events or in any way Clubs Queensland deems suitable.

12. Submission questionnaires are used as the basis for judging each category. Some categories are complemented by one or several anonymous site inspections/visit to your club. Other factors that are taken into consideration will be listed under the Judging Criteria and may include scores from the General Questionnaire.

13. All anonymous general site inspections by Mystery Customer will be carried out between 6pm and 9pm on a Friday or Saturday night across all clubs to ensure parity between October 2021 and December 2021.
14. The main judging panel is made up of three independent judges. Independent external judges also critique some of the categories with the final decision made by the main judging panel. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
