Clubs Queensland KPMG Report Presentation - 13/6/19
Clubs Queensland openly invites members clubs to join us as we present the KPMG Report to you and start the process of conversation and consultation’ with you about its content.
In recent years, the winds of change have been blowing strongly in the face of the Queensland community club sector: new technology, rapidly moving market dynamics, increased competition and more discerning consumer preferences are all having an impact on the club sector. Clubs are finding it increasingly difficult to remain competitive, let alone fulfil their community obligations which are growing at an equally rapid pace - make no mistake, as social disparity increases and health issues relating to obesity (adult and child) and our ever increasing sedentary/convenience lifestyle increase, the need for our community clubs to be sustainable has never been more important.
Clubs Queensland commissioned KPMG in late 2018 to conduct a broad analysis of the industry as a catalyst of change. We recognize that it is time for our sector to be proactive and to collectively stop and reset the path forward to secure the sector’s future, and the future of the communities we serve throughout Queensland.
This Report is, in many ways, an important tool for the community club industry and our key stakeholders to focus on an appropriate and much needed ‘competitive’ (rules appropriate) course forward together.
As such, Clubs Queensland openly invites members to join us as we present the KPMG Report to you and start the process of ‘conversation and consultation’ with you about its content.
There is no doubt that some of the content of this Report will be challenging to the traditional thinking of our sector. However, it is in this thinking where the true opportunities for the community club sector lay, and we urge everyone to approach it with an open and creative mind.
It’s time to embrace change.
RSVP: Tuesday, 4 June 2019. Lunch will be provided.
