Corporate Governance Workshop - CANCELLED
Clubs Queensland calls all Club Directors to participate in this half day Corporate Governance workshop, presented by Dan Nipperess, designed to provide committee/board members with a broad general understanding of corporate governance and how to positon themselves well in terms of discharging their legal duties and ensuring the long term success of the Club. Covering modules like board effectiveness, strategy, risk recognition, compliance etc this complimentary event is a must for all club Directors. Available only to member clubs of Clubs Qld.
By having a good understanding of corporate governance obligations, management committee/board members position themselves well in terms of discharging their legal duties and ensuring the long term success of the Club. This Corporate Governance workshop will provide Directors with a broad understanding of their key obligations and offer practical guidance.
The half day workshop will be run by Dan Nipperess who is the Workplace Relations and Compliance Officer with Clubs Queensland. Dan spent a number of years practicing as a solicitor in the workplace relations field for a national top-tier law firm. Dan holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business from QUT and a Graduate Diploma a Legal Practice from the College of Law. Dan is a solicitor admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia.
Modules covered in this workshop are:
- Understanding corporate governance
- Understanding the management committee
- Board effectiveness
- Financial reporting
- Risk recognition and management
- Board integrity, accountability and ethics
- Common purpose and community benefit

Times: 8:30am registration, 9:00am start, 1:30pm finish
