Webinar: AML/CTF Reforms

Join us for a webinar to discuss the upcoming AML/CTF reforms affecting smaller clubs with 16 to 50 EGMs.

This webinar will assist smaller clubs with 16 to 50 EGMs with understanding and implementing the reform’s changes.

Presented by Ben Waldeck at Rubicon Law, the session will cover:

  • New statutory eligibility requirements for AML/CTF officers.
  • Changes to customer due diligence (CDD) requirements, including:
    • Identity verification.
    • Politically Exposed Person (PEP) checks.
    • Sanctions checks.
    • ML/TF risk ratings.
  • Reduction of the initial CDD threshold to $5,000 for relevant transactions (cash, TITO, and visitor card transactions).
  • Managing CDD requirements for new member registrations, including practical steps clubs can take ahead of further AUSTRAC guidance.
  • Conducting updated club-specific risk assessments.
  • Updating AML/CTF programs to align with the new requirements and risk profiles, including the removal of the Part A / Part B structure.

Bookings are essential for all events to avoid disappointment. All booking must be paid in full prior to the event.

Cancellation Policy Events and Training: 
All cancellations must be made in writing to Clubs Queensland via [email protected]. Your registration will be refunded if cancellation is received in writing at least seven (7) business days before the event. Cancellations made after this time cannot be refunded. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person at no cost.
