KEYNOTE SPEAKER: PENELOPE TWEMLOW
We’re excited to introduce Keynote Speaker Penelope Twemlow, a multi-degree qualified professional with over 25 years’ experience across defence and complex operational environments.
Penelope’s service in the Royal Australian Navy has seen her undertake strategic level appointments in project, human resource, safety, culture and risk, as well as being a member of the Maritime Warfare team and the Australian Defence Force Investigative Service.
Penelope is currently providing active Reserve service to the Australian Submarine Agency, the Office of the Defence Seaworthiness Regulator and the Royal Commission. Penelope also boasts the ability to drive an 8,500 tonne armed warship.
Penelope co-founded and now Chairs Women in Power – a Not-for-Profit organisation created to advance and empower women in industry. Furthering her passion in the areas of equality and diversity, she is a sought-after speaker, author and national Ambassador for various domestic violence, mental health and veteran-related organisations and is a previous Board member of the Defence LGBTIQ+ Board and the Women in Defence Association Board.

WOMEN IN CLUBS BURSARY
We are pleased to announce the 2026 Women in Clubs Bursary Award, generously sponsored by Aristocrat. The Bursary Award is designed to recognise and champion women in the community club industry and is set to be presented at the 2026 Women in Clubs Luncheon.
The recipient of the Bursary Award will be granted an Educational Bursary to attend our Women in Clubs Executive Experience in September 2026, the Women in Clubs Summit in Brisbane in 2027 and a complimentary admission to the WSET Level 1 course, the world’s most recognized introductory wine certification, courtesy of Samuel Smith & Son.
Submissions are due by 5:00pm, Monday, 22 June 2026.

Bookings are essential for all events to avoid disappointment. All booking must be paid in full prior to the event.
Cancellation Policy – Events and Training
All cancellations must be made in writing to Clubs Queensland via [email protected]. Your registration will be refunded if cancellation is received in writing at least seven (7) business days before the event. Cancellations made after this time cannot be refunded. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person at no cost.
