How to Deal with a Critical Incident in the Workplace
Angela Campbell - Service Leader, Standby
At Standby we collaborate across the community and services to respond swiftly to anyone impacted by a critical incident, predominantly suicide loss. We provide support to individuals, families, and entire communities who are grieving and given that many people who die by suicide, or who experience a critical incident, are working-age adults, most of whom are employed, it is likely that a significant number of workplaces around Australia are impacted each year. During this presentation, we will work through a workplace toolkit that has been designed to assist employers, managers, and others in leadership roles to develop a confident and best practice response through understanding and planning for potential impacts of suicide, and critical incidents, on your workforce.
